School?

Yesterday, was my first day of school (and a half day) which was wonderful because that's all I could take. My host mom stayed with me until we found Mr. Polvèche, my Rotary's President. Then, I met up with the other exchange students at my school, and we were told to go to this big room (with every other student there) to find out what section we were in - by having some man read our names. I'm in 1STG2 - I'm not sure what that means, yet. :D I met this girl in my class, she is really nice and also didn't know anyone in our class. We are going to have lunch together! Yesterday was fun, but I was really confused and still don't understand anything that happened to me! Today, I don't have school (I don't know why) but tomorrow I do... everything is different here.

P.S. I watched the Titanic for the first time (in French) and still cried!

Approximately, how many other foreign exchange students are there? Also, how many students attend your school... say compared to Ashland High School?

My host mom thinks there are about 800 students going to my school - but it's a big school, so it is probably more than that! But I don't know. I think there are only 7 exchange students who go to my school!

Bonjour!
I'd post my comments in French if I could remember more than "bonjour" from the last French class I had in college 35 years ago. But, alas... c'est la vie!
I am soooooo happy you started a blog. I'm on "vicarious exchanges" now with 6 of our outbound students in 5 different countries, by following their blogs. It helps me understand better what you guys are going through — not to mention it's reassuring to know you're all OK!
BTW - Not to worry. I'm discreet. It's my "inner teenager" who reads these things, not an "official YE adult." Think Vegas: What I see on your blog, stays on your blog. Just like what I see on Facebook stays on Facebook.
Laissez les bons temps rouler... (OK, OK, not good French, but it's the best I can do now...)
